A scalable proton therapy solution with unmatched long-term value

Keeping up with the rapid evolution of technology within a radiotherapy service can be complex and challenging. When it comes to proton therapy, it is essential to incorporate the latest innovations and advancements, as they can significantly affect patient recruitment, treatment quality, and a center's growth and evolution over time.

At IBA, we provide flexible, scalable solutions and a strong upgradability vision to help cancer centers progress on their journey. IBA demonstrates a proven upgrade record, offering an extensive range of upgrades based on the specific needs of medical institutions throughout the equipment's lifetime. IBA users can make incremental improvements and upgrade the systems after several years of operations to continuously benefit from the latest advances and increase their performance.

IBA’s most advanced proton therapy system, ProteusONE, is a future-ready platform designed to be compatible with the next disruptive proton therapy innovations such as DynamicARC®*,  ConformalFLASH®* and Motion Management*. Moreover, ProteusONE can be augmented through smart expansions when patient demand grows, by adding one or several ProteusONE systems to the center after a first installation, with strong flexibility and versatility to meet medical institution needs.

An investment in ProteusONE today can help excel in the future, leveraging the latest technologies to continue to enhance patient care and the clinical relevance of proton therapy.

Limiting the environmental impact of radiation therapy

Today, the healthcare sector accounts for close to 5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and energy consumption is a major concern in hospitals.1 IBA is one of the few companies exploring solutions to reduce the environmental footprint of healthcare and energy costs, adopting more sustainable practices.

Compared to current and previous generation proton therapy systems, ProteusONE is more sustainable, with a lower energy consumption per patient2, providing additional peace of mind to its users.

IBA has a clear and ambitious sustainability strategy, based on four pillars :

  • Reduce the CO2 and waste impact of products across their life cycle
  • Reduce waste and make the organization carbon-neutral by 20303
  • Incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Build sustainable chains, by screening the societal and environmental impact of the suppliers

IBA’s proton therapy systems have a track record of longevity and ProteusONE is designed for maintainability and upgradability, increasing its overall lifetime and consequently reducing its environmental impact per year of use.

As climate change and ecology are now key societal issues, IBA is committed to reducing ProteusONE's environmental impact by adopting sustainable practices.
