Treatment Rooms

IBA can help you develop any combination of room types you need to deliver optimal treatment to your patients. IBA has particular expertise in developing and equipping treatment rooms and the hardware used in them. Recent innovations, such as the Inclined-Beam Treatment Room (IBTR*) or the Proteus Nano®, can reduce the cost and time frame of building a Proton Therapy center.

Empath® Gantry Room

A gantry is the movable portion of the beam transport system—an isocentric rotating structure within a stationary gantry housing. A section of the beam transport line and the nozzle are supported by the rotating gantry. The gantry treatment delivery system gives radiation oncologists the flexibility to treat the patient from all angles because it rotates 360° around the patient and is designed to provide maximum access to the tumor.

Dedicated Eye Treatment Room

Compared to other treatment rooms, the dedicated eye treatment room requires a limited footprint and uses a wall-mounted fixed-beam delivery.

Fixed-Beam Room

Fixed-beam treatment rooms can be designed for ocular, intracranial, and head and neck treatment, or for research with the proton beam. The room features a horizontal beam that can also be used with a Robotic Patient Positioning System (RPPS*) for more versatility in treating prostate and other cancers.

Research Room

A research room allows your institution to focus on academic research with future technologies so you can continuously explore the leading edge of cancer treatment. IBA can equip your facility with the necessary footprint, equipment and beam line for your research needs.

Inclined-Beam Room

The IBA Inclined-Beam Treatment Room (IBTR*) is a more compact treatment delivery system consisting of an Inclined-Beam Line (IBL*) and a Robotic Patient Positioning System (RPPS*). Designed and developed as a result of a partnership between IBA and ProCure Treatment Centers, an IBTR can reduce the cost and time of building a Proton Therapy Center by replacing a three-story gantry room while providing the clinical versatility needed to ensure effective treatment.
